![]() Stellarium Portable is a pocket-sized free planetarium that will please all astronomy fans out there. And if not, it also works great as an entertainment for coffee break. While Stellarium Portable doesn't include highly-detailed imagery and makes traveling from one point to another a bit confusing sometimes, it's also a very interesting app – as long as you like astronomy. Stellarium Portable also lets you add extra information to the image, such as a grid with parallels and meridians, constellation art based on mythological figures and cardinal points, among others. Overall, the application is just awesome. When you click any object in the sky, you can see all details of that object like, distance, magnitude, size etc., Do you have anything to say? You can use the “ Satellite Hints” option to view the satellites that are currently over your location. To change the landscape, press F4 or click “ Sky and Viewing Options” in the left menu, and find landscapes under the “ Landscapes” tab There are many customizations you can play with. You can also remove fog for a clear sky view. You can change your viewing landscape too, stellarium offers a bunch of beautiful landscapes like Garching, Guereins, Hurricane, Ocean, Trees, Mars and more. It shows a realistic sky in 3D, just like what you see with the naked eye, binoculars or a telescope. You can increase or decrease the time speed and watch the sky like a movie. Stellarium is a free open source planetarium for your computer.
